Mile Marker Addressing

MSAG Data Consultants has used the mile marker addressing system to develop all addresses for County. This mile marker addressing system is approved by both the US Post Office and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and based upon the mile marker system found on interstate highways. Roads increase from south to north and west to east. Even numbers are always to the right side as the numbers increase. This system reserves numbers along the road and produces 1000 addresses per road mile (500 odd and 500 even). This system has been proven effective by MSAG Data Consultants and in over 150 addressing projects that MSAG Data Consultants has completed throughout the United States. Emergency responders can use their odometer to approximate the location of an emergency, which allows for the quickest possible response to a dispatched call. This system has been adopted in other states that previously had used a grid system based upon number roads for state wide addressing such as Florida and Oklahoma.
